Beautiful and nourished hair is a symbol of health. Both women and men are trying to maintain their natural hair, but sometimes that's not enough.

Due to continuous exposure to stress as a result of a fast-paced lifestyle, hair loss has become more and more frequent worldwide. Furthermore, genetics also play an important role when it comes to hair quality. When we aren't satisfied with our appearance, and we can't change anything, we're experiencing even more stress, which can lead to anxiety and even depression.

We’ve found a helpful and reliable solution – PRP hair therapy.

What is PRP hair therapy?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a three-step medical treatment for hair loss. The first step requires a patient's blood extraction. After that, blood goes to a centrifuge for separating fluids of different densities.

After about 10 minutes in a centrifuge, blood will be separated into three layers – platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and red blood cells. The third step includes injection of platelet-rich plasma at approximately every half inch over the scalp area at the level of the hair follicles where increased hair growth is needed. The entire process takes less than a half hour.

Effectiveness PRP of therapy

For the best results, the process of PRP therapy should be performed every month for the first three or four months. After that period, depending on the patient's response to the therapy and results, the process should be performed every three to six months. Progress and the first changes can be seen after up to three months of therapy.

Risks of PRP hair therapy

PRP treatment isn't uncomfortable or painful, but you can be rejected for PRP treatment if you have been diagnosed with the following diseases or conditions: cancer, chronic liver or skin disease, acute or chronic infections, hemodynamic instability, thyroid disease, sepsis, low platelet count, systemic disorder, metabolic disorder, or platelet dysfunction syndromes.

If you aren't diagnosed with some of the mentioned diseases, you can contact Want Hair clinic and schedule a treatment.

Side effects of PRP hair therapy

There are no reported side effects of PRP hair therapy, but every therapy or treatment based on injections carries a risk of scar tissue, infection, injury to blood vessels or nerves, and calcification at the injection points. The listed side effects aren't dangerous, but if some side effect occurs, notify your doctor.

Also, notify your doctor if you can’t tolerate anesthetics.

Recovery from PRP treatment

If you feel discomfort or pain, you can use ice to reduce and minimize pain. Besides, there is no other specific advice for recovery from PRP therapy. You should avoid brushing your hair during the first few weeks after treatment.

If you have problems with hair loss, PRP therapy is a safe and reliable solution.
