Direct Hair Transplant or Implantation
DHI stands for direct hair implantation which is another method of hair transplantation. In a standard FUE surgery, each stage of extractions, incisions and implantations are made separately. With DHI the incisions and implantation in to the thinning and balding zones are done at the same time using a special device called a CHOI implanter pen. When the pen is used, the follicles are extracted and implanted simultaneously. This is often better suited to unshaved hair transplants and female pattern baldness. DHI has a similar recovery time to FUE, with results taking up to 12 to 18 months. A consultation will help determine which option would give you your desired results.

The DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) method is designed to minimise trauma to the scalp by combining two steps, incision and implantation into a single, precise motion. Unlike traditional methods, where channels are first opened before grafts are placed, the DHI implanter inserts the graft while simultaneously creating the incision. For patients, this means an easy healing journey with minimal scabbing and a lower risk of complications.
